Ice Fishing Tournament Rules 2020

1. The contest is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. January 25, 2020 on all 5 of  lakes in Fairmont, MN (Amber, Hall, Budd, Sisseton  and George Lakes)
2. Should the contest not be held for any reason on January 26, 2019, it will be held the following weekend on February 1st, 2020. No refunds or exchanges will be allowed.
3. Entry fee for the Tournament is $30.00. No refunds or exchanges will be given for any reason
4. Each contestant will be allowed to fish with two lines.
5. Each contestant may weigh in up to 3 fish. They may weigh 1 Pan fish, 1 Walleye, and 1 Northern Pike or Large Mouth Bass. The Heaviest fish will be the fish used for the contest.
6. During this tournament the only legal fish to weigh in will be Northern Pike, Large Mouth Bass, Walleye, Perch, Bluegills, Sunfish, and Crappies. All Panfish including Large Mouth Bass must measure at least 7”, Northern Pike must measure at least 24” and Walleyes must measurer at least 15”.
7. Contestants must fish in the contest area (the 5 lakes listed above) during the contest.
8. Anyone fishing in the contest must display the colored ribbon on the exterior of their shelter or on the person if not using a shelter.
9. Contestants must bring the numbered card with them when they come to weigh in a fish.
10. All fish weigh-ins will be done at the weigh-in station located in front of the Marina Lodge on the North East side of Sisseton Lake. The address is 501 Lake Ave, Fairmont, MN 56031
11. Fish may be weighed in any time from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at The Marina Lodge
12. All Contestants must be in the weigh-in line BEFORE 3:10 p.m. if they plan to weigh a fish or their fish entries will be disqualified.
13. All shelters may not be within 20 feet of each other. However anglers may fish in the same house.
14. If contestants are fishing in a house. No non contestants may be fishing in that same house.
15. Contestants are allowed to move around the lakes between the 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. fishing hours
16. Contestants must preregister the day of between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at Sommer Outdoors. The address is 1547 Albion Avenue, Fairmont, MN
17. All Contestants must be at Gomsrud Park near the Shelter house at the 11:00 a.m. for a shotgun style start.
18. If Contestants are late for the 11 a.m. start they must first check in at Sommer Outdoors before they can go out and fish.
19. The top 10 prizes are determined by the largest weight. In the event of a tie, we will have a deck of cards and the tied contestants will draw a card. The Contestant with the highest card will take the higher position on the board. If the tie involves a biggest fish bonus you will have an option to split the money first. If both parties do not agree to the splitting the money the card draw will determine who gets the bonus money also.
20. Contestants are responsible for their own safety, actions, and property at all times.
21. All laws of the State of Minnesota prevail.
22. Licenses are not sold on the lake but you can buy them at Sommer Outdoors when you pre-register.
23. Failure to comply with any contest rules subjects contestants to disqualification as determined by contest officials. Contest officials reserve the right to refuse sale and/or revoke a contest ticket to anyone.
24. All contestants and other spectators hereby consent to the use of any names, photographs or likenesses of themselves to be used in the promotion of our contest, including but not limited to print, radio, television or any other media.
25. Please bring fish to the weigh-in station in a bag or bucket. Also try and bring them in fresh and/or still alive. If you are unable to bring them in fresh make sure they are not covered with snow and ice. Judges shall have the right to refuse to weigh a fish covered in debris. Judges shall have the right to verify all fish are legally caught. The decision of the judge is final.
